Hello, today I want to post another English translation of a Japanese song that I came to like recently. (For other song reviews/translations, read here!) I knew this song because I watched Ojisama to Neko [The old man and the cat] drama. And I watched that drama because Kamiki Ryunosuke voiced the main cat in the story. It’s cute, sweet, and heartwarming 🙂
At the beginning, I was kinda bored because you see, I hated waiting for the translation to be available, and while I could actually watch and understand without subtitles, somehow sometimes I missed some details, and I didn’t like that. But I learned to be patient and somehow I came to love it again 🙂
But, really, the drama is good. It’s simple. Major spoiler: it’s about an old man and a cat that just want to be loved. The cat somehow didn’t sell even though he’d been displayed for long and its price had been lowered, mainly because people thought he was ugly. The cat felt sad, rejected, and unwanted. Meanwhile, the old man seemed to not be able to find joy after his wife’s death. And somehow they (the old man and the cat) found each other and found happiness together. The cat finally felt loved. The man finally could stand back up on his feet and feel happy again. And the story was kinda untangled as it involved other characters in a heartwarming way. I guess that’s just what we need, huh? To love and be loved 🙂
Well, at the beginning I thought it was kinda weird and hilarious because they used a “cat doll” as the cat, and did not actually use real cats so somehow it’s weird. But, well, maybe it’s hard to find and cast an obedient real cat. Haha
Well, ok, now about the song, it’s the song played at the end of the episodes. I found out that it’s a song by Abe Mao. The title is Futari de ireba. Here is the lyrics in kanji, romaji, and the English translation 🙂

By the way, I did a cover of this song. Haha Well, I know, maybe it’s too much to call it a cover. I mean, I love singing but I’m not a singer, and have never taken any singing/vocal lessons either, so yeah, I acknowledge that my singing sometimes sucks. I hope people will spare me the hateful or harsh comments, though… Anyway, try to listen to the original song. I hope you like it 🙂
PS: I just realized that I sang it wrong. LoL At the ending part, instead of saying “furete”, I said “fureta”, which is past tense. LoL So I tried to sing again, but I don’t know how to change the audio on my YouTube, so I guess I’ll just post it here 😀
